Your First Reading: What's Actually Going To Happen

First readings are mostly nervousness. Most people who call us for the first time apologise within thirty seconds. You don't need to - here's what to expect so the call feels less like an exam.

Before the call

What the first three minutes usually sound like

The reader will introduce themselves and then go quiet for a moment while they tune in. They'll say something specific - about you, about the person you're asking about, about the energy. That's the bit that tells you whether you've matched well.

What's normal and what isn't

Normal: pauses, the reader asking your first name, the reader clarifying who you're asking about. Not normal: being asked your full date of birth, address, partner's surname, or anything that feels like data gathering. Real readers don't need any of that.

What to ask

Open questions beat yes/no. "What's actually going on with [name]?" beats "does he love me?" The first gives the reader room to deliver. The second pushes them toward a tidy lie.

How long, and how much

Most first readings are 15-25 minutes. £0.95/minute, but your first call is 15 minutes for £7. You hang up when you've got what you came for - nobody upsells you.

After the call

Write down two specific things the reader said. Don't act on them tonight. Sleep, see how they sit in the morning, then decide what to do with the information.

Common questions

What if I get nervous and forget what to ask?

Tell the reader. They'll lead - that's part of what you're paying for.

Do I have to tell them anything personal first?

Only your first name. Anything more should come from them.

What if I don't believe in it?

That's fine - most first-time callers don't, fully. A good reading either changes that or doesn't. No harm done either way.

Can I record my own reading?

On our line we record automatically for safeguarding, and you can request a copy.

How soon should I book a second one?

Wait a month or two unless the situation actively changes. Stacking readings rarely helps.
